Our intergenerational group provides for female identifying and non-binary individuals thirteen and older a place to meet, form bonds, find meaningful ways to worship and contribute to our community through discussion, song, poetry, storytelling, art, dance, and food. Our programs are themed, based on the interests of group members.
Hebrew for “head of the month” – Rosh Chodesh is the monthly holiday that celebrates the arrival of the new moon, marking the start of a new month in the Jewish calendar. In biblical times, Rosh Chodesh was a day of festive meals and refraining from doing business. Later, it became a special holiday for women.

CHANUKAH IS COMING!
Chanukah Family Service
Friday, December 8 at 6:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m oneg with sufganiyot
Plan to join us for a Family Service celebrating Chanukah. We will share the story of Chanukah through spirited musical selections and invite all families to bring a menorah and candles to light together so we can enjoy the warmth of their glow.
Annual CMI Mitzvah Mall & Mitzvah Day Sunday, December 3 from 10:00 - 12:00
Instead of purchasing gifts at the mall, why not buy a warm meal for a person experiencing homelessness, clothing for a family in need or toys for hospitalized children in honor of a friend, relative, teacher, parent or child? Participants experience the gratifying gift of charity (tzedakah) for the holidays as they learn about and donate to non profit agencies. It is a hassle free way to shop that helps those in need. Parents and congregants are encouraged to participate in this event.
The Mitzvah Mall, co-sponsored by the Social Action and Religious Education Committees, is an alternative gift fair. The vendors are non-profit organizations and charities.
Annual CMI Torch Run Sunday, December 10 at 8:30 a.m
All interested runners (and bikers) are invited to participate in our annual Chanukah Torch Run. You will meet at the top of East Rock Park at 8:30 a.m. and run to Mishkan Israel (a 2.5 mile downhill course) carrying the authentic torch found in Modiin, the town where Chanukah originated. All ages are welcome to participate. Children through 6th grade must be accompanied by an adult.
Brotherhood of Men and Women Chanukah Candle Sale
Chanukah candles have arrived! Be sure to stock up before they sell out! The BMW will be selling candles on Sunday mornings during Religious School and there are candles in the office to purchase at other times when you are in the building during regular business hours.
Hand dipped in a variety of colors $12.00 per box
Hand dipped white only $7.00 per box
Simple multicolored candles $5.00 per box
